WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today applauded House passage of S.J. Res. 22, a resolution to disapprove the finalized “Water’s Of The United States” (WOTUS) rule by the EPA.

“As the regulatory onslaught from the Obama Administration continues, Congress, in a strong bipartisan way, refuses to tolerate its extreme overreach,” Scalise said. “Today’s vote reinforces our opposition to the radical ‘Waters of the United States’ (WOTUS) rule and sends this message loud and clear: we will not allow President Obama to exceed his Constitutional authority to further his agenda. The WOTUS rule would regulate virtually every body of water, including streams, ditches, and puddles — even on private land. The American people cannot afford these unworkable and unrealistic rules, and we will continue fighting to stop unelected bureaucrats in Washington from seizing private property and taking away the rights of hard-working taxpayers in pursuit of their agenda.”
