WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 4557, the Blocking Regulatory Interference from Closing Kilns (BRICK) Act:
“Our brick makers, like so many other small businesses, find themselves in the crosshairs of radical, job-crushing EPA regulations. Communities all across the country rely on brick makers for good-paying jobs and the building materials they produce. The EPA’s radical ‘Brick MACT’ rule will increase costs, kill jobs, and make it harder for families to buy homes and achieve the American Dream. The BRICK Act ensures that we’re protecting this industry, and not putting it out of business.”
