WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) issued the following statement regarding the House of Representatives’ passage today of six bills to benefit military veterans:
“Our veterans deserve all of the thanks and appreciation our grateful nation can give for their selfless service defending our country. Therefore, it’s critical that we do everything we can to help veterans and their families achieve the American Dream they’ve fought to defend,” Scalise said. “While we can never fully repay our veterans for the enormous sacrifices they have made serving our country, defending our freedoms and protecting our way of life, I’m pleased that Congress today took several important steps to ensure that our servicemen and women receive the benefits they have earned, including demanding accountability from the VA, boosting veteran employment, and helping veteran-owned businesses succeed.”
