WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement after Housed passage of H.R. 160, the Protect Medical Innovation Act of 2015

“Obamacare is fundamentally broken, saddling millions of Americans with higher costs and more uncertainty. One of the most destructive provisions of the president’s health law is the excise tax on the sale of medical devices like respirators, wheelchairs, and even artificial hearts,” Scalise said. “This tax harms patients, and kills American jobs and innovation – already costing more than 30,000 American jobs. Today’s legislation repeals this dangerous tax once and for all. I applaud my good friend and colleague Rep. Paulsen for his commitment to repealing the president’s broken healthcare law and replacing it with more affordable, patient-centered solutions.”
