WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 1190, Protecting Seniors’ Access to Medicare Act.
“One of Obamacare’s worst ideas is the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), a cabal of unelected bureaucrats tasked with restricting access to health care for Medicare beneficiaries,” Scalise said. “Our seniors deserve access to the Medicare benefits they’ve earned, and they need protection from the whims of 15 unaccountable government bureaucrats who don’t have their best interests in mind. This legislation repeals IPAB, and sends a strong message that House Republicans are standing up for American seniors.”
