WASHINGTON, D.C.—House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) invites students from Louisiana’s First Congressional District to participate in the 2018 Congressional App Challenge. The Congressional App Challenge is an annual competition that allows students to submit their applications to be judged by an expert panel. The winner of the challenge will have the chance to have his or her work put on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. The challenge is open to middle school and high school students who are interested in developing skills in computer science and coding.
“We live in an increasingly digital world that will require more workers with skills like coding and computer science. As a former computer programmer, I love to see Louisiana students developing and honing these skills at a young age. I look forward to reviewing the work of our talented students and wish them all good luck!” said Whip Scalise.
Important Dates:
October 15 – Deadline for students to register and submit their app online
October 20-27 – Judging period
November 1 – December 3 – Winners announced!
