Scalise Statement on the Passing of President George H.W. Bush

WASHINGTON, D.C.— House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement on the passing of President George H.W. Bush:

“I am incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of President George H.W. Bush. President Bush dedicated his entire life to public service, including so many different roles in elected and appointed positions.

“While we all mourn his loss, we gain solace in knowing that he is finally reunited with his beloved wife of 73 years, Barbara. His legacy will loom large in so many ways, but none more than in his five children and 17 grandchildren, many of whom are already paying tribute to his life of public service by continuing on in his footsteps.

“Jennifer and I are keeping the entire Bush family in our thoughts and prayers as we share in their mourning.”
