WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Tax Foundation released estimates today that show 215,000 jobs will be created this year thanks to pro-growth Republican tax reform. Every state across the country should see new jobs this year. Louisiana alone is expected to see the addition of 2,879 new jobs.

These estimates are in line with reports that there are currently more available jobs than people looking for work. In fact today, jobless claims reached a nearly 50 year low. More than 600 companies across the country have announced new hiring, increased benefits or new capital investments thanks to tax reform.

With the American Dream once again within reach for Americans across the country thanks to the tax cuts, will Democrats like Nancy Pelosi continue to promise to kill jobs with increased taxes?

State-by-State Job Impacts of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2018

Today, we’ve released updated state-by-state analysis of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Our Taxes and Growth model estimates that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will create 215,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs in 2018.

As we’ve written previously, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a pro-growth tax reform, which will increase long-run GDP, raise wages, and create jobs. While tax changes can take years to materialize, we do expect to see an increase in jobs within the first year.

The table below illustrates the state-by-state impact of the new tax law.
