WASHINGTON, D.C.—The National Association of Manufacturers’ Outlook Survey released today shows increased levels of economic optimism among manufacturers—yet another sign of our robust ecnomy in the wake of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Key findings of the Survey Include:
- 93.5 percent of respondents said they have a positive outlook for the future of their company, the second highest level in the survey’s 20-year history
- Small manufacturers reached a record level of 94.5 percent feeling optimistic
- Projected growth rates among manufacturers for full-time employment, inventories and capital investments are at all-time highs
- Projected wage growth reached a 17-year high and projected sales growth reached a nearly 20-year high
Manufacturers are not alone. Small businesses reported feeling record levels of economic optimism and more than 500 companies have announced pay raises, bonuses, better benefits or increased hiring since passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. While Democrats called it “Armageddon,” Republican-led tax reform has been a win for all Americans.
