WASHINGTON, D.C. – We wanted to make sure you saw that the Republicans’ Tax Cuts and Jobs Act continues to cement our economic growth as Home Depot becomes the latest company to give their employees bonuses as a result of the savings they see under the bill. Home Depot employees will see their take-home pay build up as all hourly employees will receive bonuses ranging from $200-1,000, hammering home the fact that tax reform delivers real, tangible results.
With now 250 companies and counting handing out raises, bonuses, more benefits, and new jobs to American workers because of this bill, Republicans nailed their predictions that tax reform would be a constructive win for our economy.
Yet, Democrats really screwed up with their false claims that the bill would result “Armageddon,” a “plunder[ing] of the middle class,” “one of the greatest robberies in American history,” harming children like “Tiny Tim,” tens of thousands more Americans dying each year, and a “heist that would steal from millions of middle-class families.” Will Democrats drill down on their hysterical rhetoric, or will they recognize that they need to repair their warped views that these paycheck increases are “crumbs” and the government should instead take more money out of the pockets of families, workers, and businesses?
