WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the following statement regarding passage of H.R. 805,  the Domain Openness Through Continued Oversight (DOTCOM) Act of 2015.

“A free and open Internet is vital to our national security and critical to growing a healthy American economy,” Scalise said. “The DOTCOM Act is commonsense legislation requiring the administration to do its due diligence before rushing to a new global multi-stakeholder model for domain name oversight functions – preventing bad actors and authoritarian regimes from unduly influencing the free-flowing, uncensored nature of the Internet.”
