WASHINGTON, D.C.—Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the following statement after the United States District Court for the District of Columbia’s ruling favor of the House of Representatives v. Burwell:
“The Obama Administration has tried to circumvent the Constitution, and has illegally spent billions of dollars Congress never appropriated on Obamacare. This important federal court ruling makes clear that the separation of powers is an unshakeable foundation of our republic and it must be respected and upheld. I will continue doing everything I can to fight President Obama’s reckless overreach and protect the clear separation of powers our Constitution demands.”
