WASHINGTON, D.C.—Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today released the following statement upon unanimous House passage of H. Res. 293, a resolution expressing concern over anti-Israel and anti-Semitic incitement within the Palestinian Authority:
“For over a month, dozens of Israelis have been victims of violent attacks by Palestinian terrorists in Israel and the West Bank,” Rep. Scalise said. “However, rather than deescalating tensions, Palestinian Authority leaders, including President Abbas, have made statements that are fueling these terrorist acts. I strongly condemn these attacks and Palestinian leaders’ continued incitement of violence against Israelis. I thank Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen for sponsoring this resolution and join my colleagues, both Republicans and Democrats, in calling for President Abbas to condemn these acts of violence, and end anti-Israel and anti-Semitic incitement by the Palestinian Authority.”
