WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the following statement on the retirement announcement of Chairman John Kline (R-Mn.):

“John Kline’s entire life has been devoted to public service. Colonel Kline’s record in both the military, where he served directly under President Reagan, and in the people’s House has been nothing short of outstanding. While he still has 16 months of service left in Congress, John will leave behind him a legacy of tireless work and accomplishment on behalf of our nation’s veterans, young students and hard-working taxpayers. I thank my good friend, Chairman John Kline, for his service to our country and wish him all the best in the next phase of his life.”
