WASHINGTON, D.C.— House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) made the following statement regarding the passage of a resolution to require each member, office, and employee of the House of Representatives to complete a program of training in workplace rights and responsibilities each session of Congress:

“Today’s strong passage of Congresswoman Barbara Comstock’s resolution sends a message that workplace harassment of any kind is unacceptable, including here in Congress. Everyone deserves the right to a safe and fair workplace environment, and working in Congress is no exception. It’s important that we take every step we can to ensure those who work here know their rights and have clear boundaries which make it known that inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. I commend Congresswoman Comstock for her leadership and for bringing forth this resolution so we can work together to prevent these crimes from happening in the first place.”
