WASHINGTON, D.C.— House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) made the following statement regarding the Senate’s passage of their Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The House will soon vote on motion to go to conference to reconcile the two bills.

“I congratulate the Senate for following the House’s lead in voting to pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act so hard-working families can keep more of their hard-earned dollars, and we can make America competitive again so we can create more jobs and get our economy back on track. The American people sent Republican majorities to Congress, and elected President Trump to the White House to get our economy growing again and to rebuild our middle class, and this bill will put us on the fast track to achieving those goals. I look forward to voting shortly to send this bill to a conference committee so we can work out the differences between the House and Senate, and send that bill to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law before Christmas.”
