WASHINGTON, D.C.—House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) cosponsored Congressman Clay Higgins’ (R-La.) resolution, H.Res. 990, “Supporting the officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement” following attacks from Democrats and the left against these law enforcement officers who work every day to ensure our national security, remove violent criminals from our communities, and prevent illegal narcotics from pouring over our borders.

This resolution comes as House Democrats introduce radical legislation to abolish ICE.

“With the rise of the extremely violent gang MS-13 and the increased prevalence of illegal drugs being smuggled over our borders, the work of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials is more important now than ever,” said Whip Scalise. “They put their lives on the line everyday to stop human traffickers, arrest violent gang members, and keep illegal drugs out of our communities. Democrats’ foolish action calling for the end of this vital organization would lead to rampant crime and chaos in America. Instead, ICE deserves our full support so they can carry out their critical mission.”
