WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement in response to the Obama Administration’s Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Oil and Gas Leasing Program for 2017-2022:
“The Obama Administration has spent eight years waging a job-killing war on American energy. While that makes today’s OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Plan unsurprising, it is no less disappointing. I am looking forward to working with the Trump Administration to reverse the damage the current administration has done by unleashing our nation’s abundance of energy resources and creating new American jobs—the time is now to put America on a path to energy independence and reestablish our nation as a global leader in energy.”
