WASHINGTON, D.C.—House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement after House passage of H.R. 200, Strengthening Fishing Communities and Increasing Flexibility in Fisheries Management Act.
“Louisiana has incredible natural resources, which is why our state is known throughout the world as ‘Sportsman’s Paradise.’ To ensure that future generations can enjoy the outdoor activities so vital to our way of life, we need to get unelected Washington bureaucrats out of the way, and modernize our laws to give more flexibility to states and anglers while still conserving and sustaining our fisheries. I’m proud to support this legislation that will sustain our fisheries for our children and grandchildren, and protect our proud outdoor traditions.”
